Managing Bomb Threats and Explosives Related Incidents The main goal of CounterThreat Consulting, Inc. is to provide first responders, companies and their employees with the training necessary to prepare for and, if necessary, manage bomb threats and explosives related incidents, to safeguard property and save lives. This training is founded on three (3) basic principles: 1. Preparation for bomb threats and explosives related incidents is absolutely necessary to safeguard both lives and property 2. Proper training needs to be conducted before an incident occurs and not as the result of an incident that has already occurred 3. It is not a question of IF an incident will occur but WHEN the incident will occur. Participants will learn to better recognize, prevent and manage bomb threats and explosives related incidents while, at the same time, learn to understand who, how an why these incidents are committed. How can a PBX operator be expected to manage the most basic non-specific telephonic bomb threat or a security officer be expected to recognize the most basic explosive or even a potential suicide bomber if he or she has not received proper instruction?
